WrestleMania XXVIII – The Show of All Shows
I know that some may people may not consider pro wrestling as a sport because of the pre-determined results of each match, but no one can deny what these men and women athletic ability. This past Sunday, WWE’s WrestleMania XXVIII was held in Miami, FL. Over 78,000 were entertained at Sun Life Stadium. The event was built around one of the biggest matches in wrestling history with the Rock taking on John Cena. The other major match was between the Undertaker and HHH with WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels as the guest referee. The event itself lived up to the hype unlike some Super Bowls and other sporting events in the past. The thing most people don’t understand about WrestleMania is that it’s not just that event, it’s the experience of the entire weekend that families can enjoy.
WrestleMania week kicked off Wednesday in Miami when fans got the chance to meet WWE superstar Ted Dibiase and WWE diva Rosa Mendes at a Wal-Mart near Sun Life Stadium. The next day fans were given the opportunity to meet WWE superstars like Kofi Kingston, Daniel Bryan, and others at the WWE Superstore at the stadium. This took place that Thursday thru Saturday. Also that Thursday and continuing thru Sunday was the ultimate fan fest called WrestleMania Axxess.
WrestleMania Axxess is an opportunity for fans to go up close with their favorite Superstar. Also fans can view pictures from past WrestleMania’s, walk down the isle of their favorite wrestler, compete in trivia games, and plenty more. They had special VIP tickets for the most known Superstars like John Cena, HHH, Shawn Michaels, CM Punk, and more. There are fans of all ages able to live out their lifelong dream of walking down an WWE isle to the ring or meeting their favorite Superstar or Diva. Not only were people given the opportunity to take place in this events, fans also had the chance to meet Mike Tyson. Mike Tyson was being honored that weekend by going into the celebrity part of the WWE Hall of Fame. Tyson was the special enforcer back in 1998 at WrestleMania XIV.
The lead up to WrestleMania this year was Once in a Lifetime when it came to the Rock vs. John Cena. You can also say the same thing about the week leading up to the grand event, Once in a Lifetime.
