2014 NBA Playoffs Second Round Preview

2014 NBA Playoffs Second Round Preview

What a first round of action we all have witnessed. Here is what I predict will happen in the second round of the NBA Playoffs.

Eastern Conference:

Brooklyn Nets vs. Miami Heat – This matchup has all of the makings to go seven games. With the Nets sweeping the Heat in the regular season, look for the Heat to prove a point by starting off on a good note in game one. This will be a series of adjustments and the coaches will play a major role. This could possibly be the hardest series before the Finals the Heat may have to go through.

Prediction: Heat will in seven. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the Nets pull it out.

Washington Wizards vs. Indiana Pacers – The Pacers barely made it to this round and will face an opponent that is already battled tested by beating the Bulls in five and is ready to take out the one seed. What type of Roy Hibbert will show up for the Pacers and will Paul George go to another level of stardom?

Prediction: Pacers will not have enough scoring to win and I am picking Wizards in six.

Western Conference:

Portland Trailbrazers vs. San Antonio Spurs – Spurs finally looked like the contenders we know them to be in game seven versus the Mavs. They will have their hands full going up against Portland. The interesting matchup to look out for is Lillard vs. Parker.

Prediction: Spurs have too much experience and will win series in six.

Los Angeles Clippers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder – This matchup could go either way. Since the recent controversy with the Clippers, they are now the Cinderella story. The league MVP in Kevin Durant will have something to prove and become Mr. Reliable in this series.

Prediction: Thunder in seven.
